Terms of service
Last updated: 20 May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EA Copilot (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
EA Copilot is an AI-powered executive assistant tool that connects to your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account to help you triage email, draft replies, schedule meetings, generate briefings, and manage executive context. The Service uses the Anthropic Claude API to perform natural-language tasks on data you authorize it to access.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account and Authorization
- You sign in via Google or Microsoft OAuth. You authorize EA Copilot to access your email and calendar within the scopes you explicitly grant during sign-in.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google / Microsoft account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may revoke EA Copilot's access at any time via your Google or Microsoft account permissions page, which will immediately invalidate stored OAuth tokens.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right (including intellectual property and privacy rights);
- Send unsolicited bulk email, spam, phishing, or other deceptive communications;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any individual or entity;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code or training data from the Service;
- Interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service.
5. AI Outputs and Your Responsibility
The Service uses large language models to generate drafts, classifications, briefings, chat answers, and other outputs. These outputs are suggestions, not advice or final decisions.
- You are solely responsible for reviewing any AI-generated draft before sending it. We do not send email on your behalf without your explicit click of the “Send” button.
- AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or outdated information. Do not rely on them for legal, financial, medical, or other regulated decisions.
- You are responsible for the content of any email, calendar event, or other communication you create using the Service.
5a. Margin— Knowledge Chat Specific Terms
Margin is a chat assistant that answers questions using documents, spreadsheets, and notes you upload to your Company Knowledge base. The following terms apply to Margin in addition to Section 5:
- Source of truth. Margin only answers from material you have uploaded or written. If the underlying document is wrong, outdated, or incomplete, Margin will faithfully reproduce that limitation.
- Retrieval is best-effort. Semantic search may miss a relevant chunk, especially in very long or inconsistently-worded documents. Always verify a critical answer by opening the source file Margin cites.
- Spreadsheet answers. For sheets up to 100 rows, Margin sees the full data. For larger sheets up to 10,000 rows / 50 columns, only the first 100 rows are sent to the model and Margin will explicitly say so. For anything larger, Margin will refuse and ask you to open the sheet directly. Arithmetic across thousands of rows should be done in your spreadsheet tool, not Margin.
- You own what you upload. Do not upload documents you do not have the right to share with our processors (Anthropic, Voyage AI, Supabase). Marking a document or fact Confidential limits its surfacing but does not change the legal basis under which you uploaded it.
- Chat history. Your conversation with Margin is stored to enable follow-ups and is treated with the same protections as the rest of your data (encrypted at rest, never used for model training, deletable). You can clear the thread at any time, and deleting your account removes it permanently.
- Fair use. During the private beta we apply a soft cap of approximately 100 knowledge queries per user per month for product analytics. We will not block usage without notice; the cap exists to plan capacity.
6. Subscription and Fees
The Service is currently provided free of charge during a private beta period. We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers in the future with reasonable notice.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and trademarks, is owned by EA Copilot. You retain ownership of your data (emails, calendar events, uploaded documents, AI outputs derived from your data). You grant us a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to process your data solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time using the “Delete My Account” option in Preferences. All associated data is permanently deleted within 24 hours.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose us to legal or compliance risk.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EA Copilot will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero).
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Delhi, India.
